Here is what I’ve read so far in 2018 as we are passing the halfway mark in the year!
Started off the new year by finishing off One Of Us Is Lying, which I had started around Christmas. Right after that, I finally read The Force Awakens novelization! I love that movie with all my heart and was so happy to get around to reading it! After getting back to school I got caught up with class reading, but read Saga #1 and Geekerella!
Started the month off by finishing The Upside of Unrequited, which honestly, at the time I loved, but thinking about it now I would probably bump my review down to 3 stars. After I finished Upside, I read the first 3 volumes of Lumberjanes, a graphic novel I had been wanting to read for AGES since I loved Nimona (and I loved it btw, hoping to read some more volumes soon)!
Enter: ridiculous school deadlines and lots of stress. AKA: not much reading since Lumberjanes. I finished Obsidio soon after the release and LOVED it! Right after Obisidio, I started and finished the audiobook for The Apocolypse of Elena Mendoza pretty quickly! It was definitely an interesting book, not my favourite, but really entertaining! I was on a bit of an audiobook kick towards the end of March and also listened to Exit, Pursued by a Bear, which I had been wanting to read for YEARS.
Started April off by reading an ARC of Monday’s Not Coming (which is now out!) I was first drawn to this book by the beautiful cover but ended up enjoying it, not as much as I had hoped, but the story is powerful and I definitely recommend it. Back to Audiobooks, I listened to Ramona Blue, and unfortunately did not enjoy is as I hoped I would. Mid April I read a new favourite: Final Draft! Seriously, you GOTTA check out this book! I listened to another audiobook this month: The Poet X, which was really great and really interesting in audiobook format! Last but not least I read an ARC of Undead Girl Gang, which was a TON of fun!
May (and June) were slow reading months because the semester was coming to an end. I started the month off by reading an ARC of And the Ocean Was Our Sky, I really really enjoyed it! I also finally finished an anthology: All Out! Lastly in May, I read an ARC of What If It’s Us, which I really did not like, unfortunately. My review gets into all the details as to why if you are interested!
aaaand here we are onto June. Halfway into 2018! Sadly I only got around to reading one book in June, it was a crazy month for me. This book was an ARC of City of Ghosts! I really enjoyed it and would really recommend you check it out!
And that is everything up to where we are now! I’ve had a slow month of July for reading but I’m hoping that will start to change as I have some time off before school starts again in September.
I hope you have all had a good year so far, and have read lots of good stories!
